In the bvoip portal, there are several types of default users. For each user, the permissions will be defined by the assigned roles and permissions.
The Different Role Types
Users will be created as a new instance is built out. For each new user, their associated rights and role will depend on where they are created in the bvoip Control Portal. Each type of Role and their permissions are defined below.
Control Users can be created by following the guides below:
Administrator Role
This type of user is able to control, create, and edit other roles, permissions and users for any and all phone systems listed in their account. Typically, any user given an Administrator Role be defaulted to all permissions being enabled.
For information on setting roles for administrator users, please see the following knowledge base article:
Limited Access Role
These types of users have scalable administrative tasks in specified phone systems in the bvoip Control Portal. These users can see contacts and use softphones as well as are able to adjust settings, access specified phone system information, create or modify other users within limited means as set by an administrator user.
For information on creating and setting roles for control users, please see the following knowledge base articles:
End/Control Users
These type of users are extension users. End users can access the softphone application and can see contacts, but not manage them. Like a Control User, use of the SIP Softphone is also available to this Role Type.
To create an end user, an extension would need to be created. For a walkthrough on how to do this, please see our New User Guide.
